First and foremost, ISAB is an organization designed for you. Whether you are at Berkeley for one semester or all four years, we want ISAB to become your global family and home away from home — a place to meet people you would never otherwise cross paths with and make Berkeley feel a little smaller.
Community is central to ISAB’s mission alongside intellectual growth, international culture, and professional development. Joining means finding friends from around the world and having people to actually do things with.
That might mean a party one weekend, a hike or movie night the next, watching the FIFA World Cup or F1 together, going skydiving, attending a professional workshop, or simply finding people to grab dinner with. For students who want to become even more involved, Core membership offers the chance to help create those experiences yourself.
Membership Options
General Member
- Become part of ISAB’s wider international community and meet students from around the world through socials, cultural events, professional programming, and spontaneous experiences throughout the semester.
- Get early or discounted access to selected parties and events, plus invitations to GM-only experiences such as ISAB Olympics, hikes, movie nights, study sessions, watch parties, and other socials.
- Access resources created specifically for international students, including visa and OPT/CPT workshops, networking, mentoring, professional events, and our alumni network.
- Stay connected through ISAB’s member community and make the experience your own — no leadership commitment required, so you can participate as much as you want.
- No application required: simply register for General Membership and become part of the community today.
Core Member
- Join ISAB’s smaller, close-knit leadership community and take an active role in connecting Berkeley’s international students through events, experiences, content, and programming.
- Work within a committee to actually run the organization, from producing 600+ person events and building professional programming to creating content and organizing Core traditions.
- Become part of the Core social community through weekly team meetings and socials, retreats, bonding traditions, and the end-of-semester banquet (most recently in Cabo and Vegas).
- Gain hands-on experience in leadership, event production, marketing, partnerships, budgeting, community building, and project management while taking ownership of real initiatives.
- Build a particularly tight-knit friend group within ISAB and gain pathways into future committee-lead and executive-board positions.

Our Committees
External
Plan ISAB’s biggest public-facing experiences, including 400+ person parties and cultural events.
Community
Build the General Member experience through social, professional, and philanthropic programming, from DJ set hikes and sports events to visa workshops, professional development, fundraising, and community service.
Internal
Create the experiences that turn the leadership team into a genuine friend group, including retreats, banquets, Core socials, Big/Little, scavenger hunts, dinners, and other bonding traditions.
Media & Marketing
Shape how ISAB looks and feels through Instagram, TikTok, reels, photography, newsletters, merchandise, event promotion, and documentation of everything the community does.
