About us
Our Story
Established in 2009, ISAB is UC Berkeley’s largest international student association, proudly serving more than 7,000 international students.
ISAB was conceived with the purpose of making Berkeley feel more connected and welcoming for students navigating life far from home. Since then, it has grown into one of the most active and largest communities on campus. In fact, in 2010, ISAB was nominated for Outstanding Student Organization in recognition of its contribution to campus life.
Today, ISAB brings together ambitious, talented, and globally minded students from across the world. We do this by hosting social, professional, and cultural events, ranging from large-scale parties and DJ sets, to intercultural markets and run clubs, to visa guidance and resume workshops.
Our Mission
We create opportunities for students to build meaningful relationships, celebrate their own cultures while experiencing others, develop professionally, and form a global network that continues long after graduation.
Through everything we do, we aim to empower our members to become globally minded leaders across industries, countries, and communities.

Our Community
ISAB is one of Berkeley’s most diverse communities, bringing together students whose different cultures, disciplines, and experiences broaden our collective horizons and expand what we can achieve together. Our members study across a variety of Berkeley colleges and disciplines, ranging from engineering, data science, and physics to philosophy, literature, and the arts.
Some members are international students searching for a familiar community far from home; others are domestic students with multicultural roots. Together, they make ISAB Berkeley’s most diverse and internationally connected student network.
